It’s no secret Walloon Writers Review has a thing about our literary and writing community. This Spring brings us really exciting events that continue throughout this summer and fall in Northern Michigan. No matter where you are, you can join in and be a part of these events!

Walloon Lake Reads April 1st started a community read of The Nick Adams Stories by Ernest Hemingway, which runs through May 13. This community read includes numerous speakers, historians and opportunities to learn more about Hemingway and family ties to Northern Michigan. Several events are planned for this Community Read and the “2021 Hemingway Homecoming”. Harbor Springs Festival of The Book hosts ” One Bay, One Book Community Read” , a new element of their Festival programming. The Removed by 2018 Festival Presenter and National Book Award finalist Brandon Hobson was selected for this year. Hobson will discuss his book in a virtual community event Wednesday, April 28th at 7:00 pm. The online event will be moderated by Margaret Noodin, poet and Professor of English and American Indian Studies at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
