When someone mentions Up North, Northern Michigan or the Upper Peninsula, there probably is a great story ready to tell or incredible photo to share. Great trees and forests, clear waters, trails, rocks, wildlife, peace and adventure abound in the region. Incredible sunsets, long stretches of beaches and seemingly endless places to explore. For a lot of us, its peace, tranquility and a very special place.
Walloon Writers Review is an annual publication that collects and shares contributed stories, poetry, creative writing and nature photography that capture that unique experience of Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. Our contributors over the past five years have ranged from locals to the region, ‘downstaters’ who make the trek frequently, seasonal residents, and then from all over the country, writers and photographers who spent time here with family, visited the region for school, work or on their own adventure. We have received and published materials from those stationed far away in the armed services, or others now living far away. Northern Michigan is like no other place.
Walloon Writers Review is available for purchase in several independent bookstores including: McLean & Eakin – Petoskey; Between The Covers – Harbor Springs; Saturn Booksellers – Gaylord; Horizon Books – Traverse City & Cadillac; The Bookman – Grand Haven; Readers World – Holland and Island Books – Mackinac Island.
